When Should I Take a Private Yacht Charter
Where do you want to go on a private yacht charter vacation? There are limitless possibilities, according to crewed yacht brokers. Popular destinations for a United States sailing vacation include San Diego, Chicago, Yachts Cayman, Honolulu, Hilton Head, Martha's Vineyard, Fort Lauderdale, Galveston, Long Island and Annapolis, yet why stop there? A whole lot more awaits you, which are all discoverable by power boats and luxury yacht charters!
A Mediterranean private yacht charter has much to offer. In Spain, you can discover the passionate flamingo dancers and proud matadors, sip sangria, eat delicious olives and enjoy modern marinas from Barcelona to Valencia. Euro club goers and party animals can't miss the amazing entertainment venues on Ibiza, where vibrant beaches are as world renowned as the nightlife.
Some of the other Balearic Islands offer a quieter respite, from the secluded beaches of Formentera, to the cobble street village of Cindadella, to the culture-rich fishing village of Mallorca to the National Park on Dragonera. Other Mediterranean destinations include Greece, Croatia, Turkey, France and Italy.
For those chilly winter months, why not take a private yacht charter to the warm Caribbean waters? Travelers come to the Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, Jamaica, the Florida Keys and the Bahamas for the white sandy beaches, the pleasant trade winds, turquoise waters, West Indian cuisine and fun activities year-round.
There are more than 100 Virgin Islands, offering a plethora of coves for snorkeling, swimming, scuba diving, surfing, marine-life watching and lounging. On the shores, you will enjoy dancing, frozen blender drinks, crafts from local artisans and the dramatic mountain peak topography.
In the Bahamas, you can feast on spicy cuisine, fish on beautiful beaches, snorkel underwater grottos, gaze upon a habitat of 60,000 flamingos, star gaze the midnight skies, dance in nightclubs and splash around at the world-renowned Atlantis water-park and culture center. A sailing charter in the Cayman Islands will whisk you away to the famous Seven Mile Beach (one of the best in the world!), the historic Pedro St. James castle, scuba diving shipwrecks in Cayman Brac, bird watching the rare red-footed Booby on Little Cayman and partaking in the museums and shops of George Town. Nothing beats the winter blues like a Caribbean yacht excursion!

Epistrophy Arts presents
Meridian Brothers (Bogotá, Col)
With Superfónicos (ATX)
Tuesday August 16. 8pm
Antone's Nightclub (305 E 5th St., Austin, TX 78701)
Tickets $25 advance, $35 door
“Genius prophets of colombian weirdness" - MTV Iggy
“For those who haven’t heard previously heard them, Colombia’s Meridian Brothers are easily among the most interesting groups in South America” - AFROPOP
“Tuneful, clever and enormous fun” - THE GUARDIAN
“The Meridian brothers push all boundaries of what you think you know about music. Promise, you'll love it” - NPR
“So why listen? Because it takes a strong will and clear musical vision for a band to cut through all the music for which Colombia is known” - NPR
“A dream world between electronic experimentation and regional folk” - LE MONDE
“Tropical madness from the most consistent of all the “world for club culture” labels. Twisted cumbia at around 150BPM... terrorises the dancefloor!”- GILLES PETERSON
Colombian guitarist and composer Eblis Alvarez started Meridian Brothers back in 1998 as a vehicle for his own experimental music.  Over the years, the group has evolved into a five-piece band focused on re-interpreting all manners of Latin Tropical styles with a strong psychedelic and experimental sensibility. The Meridian Brothers’ music uses popular Latin American rhythms, augmented by sampling techniques, elaborate effect processing, and Eblis’ quirky and theatrical vocals, which channel imaginary characters with both pathos and humor.
The group has released records on Soundway records, Names You can Trust and Bongo Joe and have proved very popular in South America and Europe where the band has toured extensively and has started to reach out to an audience more familiar with indie rock and experimental than Latin music.
Meridian's new album is a tribute to New York's 70's era Salsa Dura. For the project, they have created an avatar, a fictitious group named El Grupo Renacimiento, and written a new repertoire trying to emulate the writing style of those late 60's and early 70's groups while retaining the Meridian Brothers idiosyncratic style of arranging and recording. The sound of instruments has been modified to fit the Meridian electronic templates, and the result is a fantastic album true to the spirit of Salsa Dura and in line with Eblis Alvarez two decade-long experiment with Latin tropical sounds.
The album will be released on the Ansonia label - a historical Latin label that was specialized in Puerto Rican, Dominican and Cuban music from the 1960's and has only recently been revived and has made its catalog finally available on digital platforms.
Meridian Brothers new album will be their first release in over 30 years - a nod from Ansonia Records to the legacy of Latin music history as it steps into the modern era.
Eblis Alvarez has been an intricate part of the new generation of Colombian musicians for the past ten years. He is also a former member of Frente Cumbiero and a current member of trio Los Pirañas.
Meridian Brothers include Maria Valencia (saxophone, clarinet, percussion and synthesizers), , Cesar Quevedo (bass) and Alejandro Forero (electronics and synthesizers) Mauricio Ramirez (drums)
Superfónicos is Colombian Funk. Better yet, it is Caríbe Soul…fed by the Indigenous and African roots of the band’s Colombian heritage, telegraphing a politics of peace and unity from the stage to your ears. They only ask that you dance toward a place in your mind beyond struggle and strife.
Superfónicos was formed when bassist Nico Sanchez and guitarist Erick Bohorquez began discussions about creating a group with a foundation in Afro-Colombian rhythms. They soon teamed up with guitarist Andres Villegas and percussionist Daniel Sanchez, and started rehearsing together during time away from their other bands. That core group developed the band’s unique sound, laying the foundation of what was to come. In 2016, gaitero and vocalist Jaime Ospina—who has recorded with the likes of Pacha Massive—relocated from Colombia to Austin, where he met and instantly connected with the group. It was also during this time that the band met with famed local producer and Grammy winner Adrian Quesada at Level One Sound. Their recording session resulted in a sound that not only encapsulates a moment in time but helped to define Superfónicos as a collective. It is a musical mestizo that is ever-changing but deeply rooted in Caribbean flavors.
Epistrophy Arts is a grass-roots cultural organization dedicated to presenting the finest adventurous and improvised music in Austin Texas. Since January of 1998 we have presented over 50 concerts with some of the major figures in international contemporary adventurous music
This project is supported in part by the Cultural Arts Division of the City of Austin Economic Development Department.

After several years of major construction and renovation, Valencia today is famous for its Fallas Festival and the City of Arts and Sciences architectural masterpiece.
Valencia is stuffed with restored historic buildings that include stunning churches, old monasteries such as San Miguel de los Reyes and the site of an ancient silk trade center known today as the Silk Exchange Market.
After redirecting the Turia River, the city constructed its most impressive attraction, a massive cultural and entertainment complex known as the City of Arts and Science. Contained within this complex are several buildings such as a science museum, planetarium, aquarium, arts museum and an IMAX theater that are each artistic marvels in and of themselves. Also included in the old Turia riverbed are beautiful gardens, athletic parks and artificial lakes.
One of Valencia’s most popular neighborhoods is the Barri del Carme with its colorful mix of architecture, diverse ethnic groups, trendy shops and outdoor cafes.
Every March, Valencia hosts the Fallas Festival where each neighborhood displays papier-mâché figures of all sizes and colors for a whole week. At the end of the week, the “fallas” are ceremoniously burned, and the communities party into the night. However, March isn’t the only time to party in Valencia. 5 Spots not-to-be-missed Sailing from Alicante to the Balearic Islands
Undecided between a fun, relaxation, or cultural holiday? Choose them all and sail with us from Alicante to the Balearic Islands!
CONTACT US NOW FOR YOUR CHARTER FROM ALICANTE
It often seems difficult to divide a holiday by allocating the right time partly to fun, partly to disconnect from everything, and partly to our cultural interests. With this premise, we at Your Boat Holiday have thought of an itinerary to offer you that combines all three of these needs.
Let’s find out why a sailing holiday in the Balearic Islands departing from Alicante is for you!
The right mix of culture, relaxation, and fun. This is the purpose of our next itinerary which in 7 days will allow you to discover historic cities, visit dream beaches and also make a stop in one of the most popular nightlife spots in the world.
Alicante, the perfect starting point to reach the Balearics
Alicante is not only an ideal city from which to sail to the Balearic Islands but it is also a city rich in history and different cultures that have mixed over the centuries.
It is located in the middle of the Spanish Costa Blanca, famous for being a very tourist area full of breathtaking beaches and is easily accessible both by land (the city is well connected to the main Iberian centers such as Valencia, Madrid, and Seville) and especially by air. The convenient Alicante-Elche airport is located only about ten kilometers from the city center.
What must-see tourist attractions in Alicante?
Alicante is famous for its long beaches of fine sand and transparent waters, such as Playa del Postiguet, an urban beach of rare beauty with numerous services, playgrounds, and sports facilities.
The real symbol of Alicante, however, is Santa Barbara’s Castle, a fortress that dominates the city from the top of a promontory overlooking the sea. If you visit the city, you cannot fail to go up here to enjoy its breathtaking view.
Instead, just stroll through the pretty city center to be surrounded by churches and historic buildings or along with one of the symbols of the city, Explanada de España, Alicante’s “Rambla” covered with mosaic tiles. This place, as well as offering shade from the sun with palm fronds, is also a popular haunt for an evening drink.
What stops will we discover within our tour?
Set sail from Alicante we will head to Formentera Island where we will discover some of the most popular and fascinating beaches of the island such as Cala Saona, Es Arenals, and Platja de Ses Illetes. After circumnavigating Formentera we will head to Ibiza where we will go in search of pure fun, stopping at the famous Platja d’en Bossa to spend a night in the most glamorous and exciting clubs. Finally, we will head west to return to Alicante, but not before visiting one last wonderful beach, Cala D’Hort.
VIEW ALL THE BOATS AVAILABLE IN THE BALEARIC ISLANDS
So here is a brief description of the 5 places  we will visit on this tour:
Cala Saona is known as the Formentera west coast pearl.
Unlike the open beaches of the rest of the island, it is a small inlet surrounded by cliffs.
It is located in a bay protected on its sides by reddish rock formations while a luxuriant pine forest grows behind it. Its beach is considered to be among the most beautiful on the island, also thanks to its shallow and calm waters that make it perfect for families and children.
Es Arenals is the most popular stretch of the Platja de Mitjorn and is located in its easternmost part. The white sand and turquoise sea make it a truly spectacular place.
Here is also one of the most famous chiringuitos in Formentera, the “Piratabus”, created in the 70s by a German hippy, who transformed an old colored bus into a kiosk. Today the bus is gone, replaced by a small wooden kiosk, around which people gather in the evening to admire the sunset.
Related: Formentera and Ibiza Sailing Itinerary
Playa ses Illetes is the classic Formentera postcard beach: a white-sand expanse bathed by a transparent sea reminiscent of the Caribbean.
It is hard to find it deserted as it is one of the main tourist attractions of the island, visited by residents and tourists on a day trip from Ibiza. By mooring your yacht offshore, you can enjoy the best without being overwhelmed by the crowds.
Playa d’en Bossa is definitely the main place for all Ibiza beach parties and where the DJ sets music literally never stops. Its location near the center of Ibiza city and the hottest clubs (such as Ushuaia, Bora Bora, Space, and Ibiza Rocks) makes it very popular. You won’t even have to worry about which event to choose because, during the day, dozens of discos and bar area promoters dress up and parade dancing to the sound of music and announcing the nightclubs parties’ agenda planned for the night.
Cala D’Hort is picturesque and fascinating, especially at sunset. It is a very fine light sand beach with 150 meters long and 20 wide. During summer it is often crowded especially because the sunsets that can be admired from here are among the most beautiful and evocative of the entire Balearic Islands.
For any information or request do not hesitate to contact Your Boat Holiday.
We will be very happy to help you organize this or any other possible itineraries to experience aboard a rental boat!

They say that ‘what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas’. But what if you got to Bath or Blackpool? Do the same rules apply? In fact, where are hens going? What are stags up to? Or shouldn’t we ask?
Here’s a breakdown of the top hen and stag party statistics 2017.
Results drawn from StagWeb.co.uk & GoHen.com
Penny-Wise
Do groups have more disposable income despite the worries of Brexit and the falling pound? While groups are getting smaller it would appear that individually we’re spending more on our accommodation, nightlife and activities while away.
Average Spend Per Group
• On average stag groups spent 50% more in 2017 than 2013. • Hen parties are spending 28% more per group in 2017 compared to 2013.
There’s also a growing gap between the amount stags and hens spend individually.
On average stag groups spent 50% more in 2017 than in 2013.
Average Spend Per Person
(figures do not include food and drink)
Hey Big Spender!
The biggest rollers StagWeb and GoHen saw this year were a group of 16 stags who spent £1,200+ per person on a trip to Las Vegas. This doesn’t include food, drinks and extras during the weekend. The most penny-wise group were a team of hens who spent just £15 per person enjoying a treasure hunt in fun loving Brum.
Most Expensive Las Vegas = £1,200+ per person
Smallest Budget Birmingham = £15 per person
Size Does Matter
It’s not the size of your hen party, it’s what you do with it. Although recent trends suggest pre-wedding parties are getting smaller, with less guests attending in 2017.
Average Group Size
• Stags – 13 • Hens – 13
The South West is the favourite region for stag and hen groups.
Where to guv’nor?
Stags and hens are heading to similar destinations. The South West is popular for both parties while Liverpool is the combined most popular party city.

Brexit hasn’t bitten. The number of stag and hen parties heading overseas haven’t been affected by the weakening of the pound. When heading abroad the important factor seems to be, hens like it hot. The bride and her gang are more likely to head to a sunny/beach destination. International stag parties tend to be swayed by the activities on offer.

A Matter of Taste
The biggest difference between stags and hens is their choice of activities. Stags are far more competitive and all the top five activities were competitive sports. 2017 hen parties focused far more on food and fitness, drinking cocktails, eating cakes, Dance Classes and Bubble Mayhen, essentially hens were either burning off or taking on calories. Hens are also more likely to ask for clothes to come off, with 141% more requests for adult entertainment from hen parties than stag groups.

Weird Requests
Stag and hen parties come in all shapes and sizes, they also cover a fair spectrum of… (*ahem*), weird and wonderful. Here are a few of the stranger requests we received from groups in 2017.
• A naked dwarf for a Life Drawing class. (stags) • One very polite group of stags asked if it was ok if they force the groom to wear a gimp mask during an afternoon of paintball. • A Boy George tribute act on canal boat in Amsterdam. (hens) • A stag party asked if they could send the groom down a zipline. Naked. • A stripper with a “tiny tiddler because the groom has a massive schlong so it would be funny if it was the opposite” (their words, not ours). • And the stag group organiser who booked a paintball session for all the guys. Then had to ask what paintball is.

Spain’s Most Fantasized Locations You Should Check Out
Europe is the dream, isn’t it? Maybe not for Europeans but for all those who have not been there. People all around the world would confess their desire to see the lovely streets of Paris, Barcelona, Rome, London, Vatican City, Athens, Ibiza, and countless other locations so much. Of course, Europe has it all. The modernity, the sophistication, the greenery, the environment. Although getting to Europe is not as easy as it used to be, considering the kind of security check systems they have in place at the terminals and checkpoints. However, it still doesn’t stop tourists and visitors from trying to get in.   The First Place to Go:   When you make the trip, you would want to make sure that you start with the most popular and entertaining location first. A few places to consider for a starting point are Spain’s Madrid or Granada. Although not the most favorite first choice, but surely the most recommended one is Madrid’s tour around the city streets. Calle de las Huertas (Street of Gardens), Puerta del Sol (Gate of the Sun), Calle Carretas (Carretas street), Plaza del Humilladero (Humilladero Square), Calle del León (Street of the Lion), Calle de la Pasa (Street of the Raisins), Plaza de Santa Ana (Saint Anne Square), Segovia Street, Toledo Street and Alcalá Street etc. These make up most of Madrid’s featured sites to visit. Trying out the cuisine in the region is something be excited for and nothing less is to be expected of Madrid’s Huevos Rotos.   Make your way through Spain’s architectural masterpieces and museums, art galleries and scenic views on hillsides and mountaintops. Check out the Sagrada Familia, Alhambra the Moorish Complex and if you want more, go to Ibiza. Filled with nightclubs and beaches making it the one stop shop for entertainment.   Making the Most of Spain For those who have an enthusiasm for art and history, Valencia is a hot spot hosting some of the most appealing historic buildings that capture the essence of Spanish culture. Enjoy the City of Arts and Sciences...

Since it was launched in 2002, the intention of This Is Spain has always been to give accurate information to those considering moving to Spain or those already here, particularly those still finding their way around.">
The idea behind "ThisIsSpain.info" is to provide information about Spain for expats, whether you simply want to know a little about how the country "works", or you have plans to move to Spain for a short or long period.
Welcome to This Is Spain Since it was launched in 2002, the intention of This Is Spain has always been to give accurate information to those considering moving to Spain or those already here, particularly those still finding their way around. Our specialist area of knowledge is the Costa Del Sol (in particular the Marbella/Fuengirola/Málaga area), the Costa Blanca (in particular the Torrevieja/Orihuela Costa and Benidorm areas) and the Canaries (Lanzarote). However, much of the information will be applicable to all of Spain. Why Choose Spain? When choosing to go on holiday or relocate to another country there are many factors people consider, and we all have our likes and dislikes. As a holiday destination, the language barrier many of us face in Spain is not so much of a problem as most of the main tourist destinations in the country have shops, supermarkets, bars and restaurants that employ one or two English speaking staff, and in some of the most popular tourist resorts you hardly hear a word of Spanish being spoken. Having said that, the more intrepid travellers who head into the mountainous interior or lesser known beaches to catch the perfect wave, may wish to learn a few words and phrases of the language. For those making the move to Spain permanently, unless you run your own business that deals mainly with expat communities from your home country, or work in a popular resort area where you can get away with speaking your own language, living in Spain can pose a bit of a problem. The Spanish Costas The entire coastline of Spain is divided into over a dozen ‘costas’ or coastal areas, all with delightful names when translated into English such as Orange Blossom Coast, Coast of Light and Golden Coast. The two most popular in terms of annual visitors and foreign residents are the Costa Blanca which incorporates the party capital of Benidorm and beautiful resort area of Orihuela Costa, and the Costa del Sol where you will find Malaga, Marbella and the lesser known but lovely town of Fuengirola. Both Benidorm and the area known as Orihuela Costa are two such places where English is spoken and understood widely, and if it wasn’t for the weather, beaches and palm trees there are parts of Benidorm where you could be forgiven for thinking you were back in Blighty! The vibrant and sophisticated city of Valencia has a Costa of the same name and receives tourists from around the world to visit its amazing City of Arts and Sciences that incorporates a huge area divided into different themes such as a visually stunning Planetarium and Oceanografic that is home to a staggering 45,000 fish, mammals, reptiles and invertebrates from 500 different species. Located on the Costa Vasca and close to the French border, San Sebastián is the closest city for visitors to nearby Zarautz that attracts a regular nomadic tribe of die hard surfers, many with the scars to prove it. The town has the longest beach in the Basque Country with legendary waves rolling in on the Atlantic. Inland Spain The inland region of Galicia is home to Santiago de Compostela where the shrine of the apostle St. James the Great is housed in its cathedral. The Camino de Santiago, known in English as the Way of St. James was one of the most important Christian pilgrimages during the Middle Ages and is still walked by many to this day. Traditionally the pilgrimage began at one’s home and ended at the pilgrimage site, but over the years many different routes spanning the country have been developed, some longer and more strenuous than others. Found on the Galician shores, the scallop shell is the symbol of the Camino de Santiago that is carried by pilgrims as recognition for others, many of whom will offer pilgrims food and shelter for the night. Madrid, the beating heart of Spain and its capital city. Occupied since prehistoric times, this sprawling city is the third largest in the European Union and home to over 3 million people. Although a modern metropolis, Madrid has still managed to retain its historic charm and boasts some beautiful monuments and landmarks such as the Cibeles Palace and Fountain, National Library, Royal Palace of Madrid and the Royal Theatre and Opera House. Throughout the city’s parks and plazas are some stunning fountains, statues, sculptures and monuments where visitors will find wonderful shady green spaces providing respite from the blazing summer heat. Spain’s Islands Comprising of two main areas, the Balearics and Canaries, Spain’s islands are world famous and offer diverse attractions appealing to a wide range of tastes, from the thumping megaclubs of Ibiza to the rugged landscape and volcanic heat of Tenerife. Depending on choice, visitors could be basking in the sun on golden sand beaches or black volcanic sand beaches, climbing the highest mountain in Spain or diving deep to explore the underwater world of Medes Island. It really is a matter of choice when visiting Spain’s islands, and a deciding factor for many holidaymaker is the closer proximity of the Balearics.
Balearic Islands Located between mainland Spain and north Africa, the Balearic Island archipelago comprises four main ones and a scattering of smaller islands and islets such as Dragonera and Cabrera. The largest, Majorca is home to the capital city of the islands, Palma de Mallorca that lies on the Bay of Palma. Steeped in history, the city has seen numerous rulers throughout its turbulent past and evidence of this can be seen in the variety of architecture such as the Old City which has a distinctive Arab feel when exploring its maze of narrow streets and walkways. Famous for its party scene and 18-30’s Club holidays, Magaluf sits on the outer edge of the Bay of Palma and is a major holiday resort with a lovely white sand beach and the raucous Magaluf Strip that caters to hoards of binge drinking British tourists looking to party till dawn. It’s excellent nightclubs fill up with stag & hen groups and feature some of the world’s top DJ’s. Even more famous for its party nightlife is the Island of Ibiza where Each summer sees the island come alive with fantastic International DJ’s and their ever present groupies filling the lively bars and huge nightclubs that have given Ibiza its fame. Not to be outdone by Magaluf, the town of San Antonio also has its strip aptly named Sunset Strip where the beach bars fill up with young crowds of revellers in the evening to watch the sunset and get in as many cheap drinks as possible before heading to the rather more expensive nightclubs. For a more peaceful and laid back holiday, the island of Minorca boasts endless white sand beaches and turquoise waters so clear that, when viewed from a certain angle boats at sea seem to be floating in mid air. The island truly is a sun worshippers paradise and has more beaches than Ibiza and Majorca combined. Pine forests reach almost to the sea, and situated near the town of Es Migjorn Gran, Cala Galdana is the most photographed bay in Europe. Also worth a visit is the Cova des Coloms (Cave of Doves) that form part of the Bingaus ravine. The towns and villages of Minorca all have a charm of their own and offer a selection of services. Formentera is the smallest island in the archipelago and is favoured by Italian tourists but gained its fame during the 1970’s as a hippy and naturist hang out where it was more of a surprise to see people clothed than nude! Just a 30 minute ferry journey from Ibiza, the island is the place to head for when you wish to get away from the thumping music and raucous crowds.
Canary Islands Which came first, the islands or the birds? Well i’m happy to inform you it was the islands that gave their name to the colourful canary bird and, part of the finch family, the wild ones are not as colourful. Lying off the coast of northwest Africa and home to the highest mountain in Spain, Mount Teide on Tenerife, the Canaries archipelago is made up of a number of islands and smaller islets, the most popular being Fuerteventura, Tenerife, Lanzarote and Gran Canaria. The diverse landscape of the islands attract many visitors each year, the majority heading for the volcanic island of Tenerife to sunbathe on the mix of golden sand and black sand beaches of its resorts. Tenerife’s interior around the volcano can be barren and stark yet holds a haunting beauty and hides lush valleys and quaint traditional villages. Much of this area is taken up by the Teide National Park with the lofty heights of Monte Teide its crowning centrepiece. Santa Cruz is the island’s vibrant capital with a mix of regal old buildings, modern architecture and wide sweeping streets. This is Spain

10 Wonderful Canadian Rock-and-roll Bands.
Rock music has actually regularly been looked at some of one of the most well-liked categories around. Those 19th century marches are actually considered among the incubators from Jazz music and also the training ground from a lot of artists. I am certainly not an educator of popular music due to the fact that I do not educate you the approach from popular music, yet I am absolutely the owner of the internal music. Rolling Stone Publication, for example, possesses a great deal of excellent present-day music material. Hip-hop, among the most music styles, had its own ideas off the 70s funk as well as nightclub. I never ever put in the work in order to get much better, so I understood that my soul had not been in songs. Among the regions from study in some cases missing out on in music evaluation is actually historical relevant information as that connects to specifics of the composer or even artist. Below is actually a list of sources I like to utilize to aid me stay up to date with click the next website most recent trends in modern music.
